I suppose it’s time to actually blog on this site. Until now, this site served as my online writing portfolio for my job search, but I’ve landed a great job. I don’t want this site to sit dormant.

This will be the fun part of my site where I might, on occasion, post random musings. (I have had a Live Journal account since 2001 where I do most of that sort of thing.) But mainly, I will share the occasional creative writing piece here.

I am going to the weekend session of the Antioch Writers’ Workshop at the University of Dayton this Saturday. I have always wanted to attend a workshop, and when I learned that the keynote speaker is Connie Schultz, whom I greatly admire, that clinched my decision to go. I’m really looking forward to her keynote and her Sunday morning class.

Part of this workshop, as you might imagine, involves peer critique. I’m mainly a creative nonfiction writer, so I’m attending that breakout session. I have two pieces I’m taking for this. I’ll go ahead and publish one here on this blog right after I publish this entry. I have already shared it with many other people. The other has the potential to be good, and I hope it will be once it gets critiqued and I can revise it. Once I’m happy with that, I will post that here as well.
